Join the Palos Verdes Symphonic Band on Labor Day, Monday, September 3, 2018 from 3-5 PM outdoors on the meadow at the South Coast Botanic Garden, 26300 Crenshaw Blvd., Palos Verdes Peninsula, for a special Labor Day concert entitled Meet the Band. The band will demonstrate various musical instruments and feature the different sections that make up a concert band. Selections will include Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, narrated by Eugene McAdoo, well-known retired Palos Verdes Unified School District principal. Amuse Music Center will provide a musical instrument “petting zoo” before the concert and at intermission in which kids can interact with various concert band instruments. This is a concert for music fans of all ages!
Tickets are free with Garden admission, in advance at www.southcoastbotanicgarden.org, or at the door. The band invites you to bring a picnic and a blanket or lawn chair for outdoor seating. No outside alcohol is allowed, but beer, wine, and food will be available for purchase.
