8/19/26 Rehearsal
Hello PVSB,
I hope you’ve all had a wonderful summer! Our 2026–27 season begins this Wednesday, August 19, and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone and getting started on another season of making music together.
MUSIC FOR OUR FALL CONCERT
Music has now been posted to the online music library. Hard copies will also be available at rehearsal on Wednesday.

We’ll begin reading through the music Wednesday (7:15pm @ RUMC) and start putting together the program for our first concert, tentatively scheduled for Sunday, October 11. Throughout the coming weeks, we’ll also set aside some rehearsal time to read through original compositions and arrangements by members of the band. I’m looking forward to giving everyone a chance to hear and play some of the music being created within our own ensemble.
2026–27 SEASON CALENDAR
Posted on the member’s area is our tentative calendar for the upcoming season. This year, the calendar is organized into a series of concert cycles, generally consisting of six to seven Wednesday rehearsals leading up to a performance.
We’re hoping this structure will make it easier for everyone to plan ahead and participate as their schedules allow. Rather than maintaining a single performance roster for the entire season, we’ll plan the roster separately for each concert cycle. If your schedule prevents you from participating in a particular concert, you can simply join us again for the next cycle.
As always, you are also more than welcome to continue rehearsing with us during a cycle even if you won’t be available for the final performance. We want everyone to be able to participate in the PVSB as much as their schedules allow.
Please take a look at the attached calendar and save the dates that you can. Concert dates are still tentative, and updated calendars will be distributed as plans are finalized or changes are made.
NEW & RETURNING MEMBERS
The beginning of a new season is also a great time to welcome new and returning musicians. If you have friends, colleagues, or former members who might enjoy playing with the PVSB, please encourage them to stop by a Wednesday rehearsal. Musicians are welcome to join us throughout the season.
I’m looking forward to seeing everyone Wednesday.
Best,
Mark
