Summer Pops Theme is Blazin' Brass
Mr. Hungerford will perform Herbert L. Clarke’s Variations on The Carnival of Venice and, with the help of the band’s trumpet section, Leroy Anderson’s Bugler’s Holiday. Noted for his repertoire in both classical and pop music, Mr. Hungerford is Artist-in-Residence at El Camino College and has served as Solo Principal Trumpet of La Orquesta Sinfonica Municipal of Caracas, Venezuela. Christine Hayes will play jazz legend Sammy Nestico’s Reflective Mood, and Amy Wolff will play a selection from the John Williams score from Schindler’s List. The program will also include a new arrangement of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance, ABBA Gold, a Frank Sinatra medley, and favorites Lady of Spain and I Left my Heart in San Francisco.
