Singers from the Los Angeles Opera Company to Perform
Lisa Eden, soprano, Sara Campbell, mezzo-soprano, Ashley Faatoalia, tenor, and Ryan Reithmeier, bass-baritone will perform popular arias and ensembles with the Palos Verdes Symphonic Band at the annual Spring Concert.

The Palos Verdes Symphonic Band, under the direction of David Stanton, consists of 60 local musicians dedicated to bringing the very best in concert band music to the South Bay community.

Lisa Eden, soprano
Soprano Lisa Eden has been described by Plácido Domingo as “. . . a well rounded artist: she has a lovely voice, is an excellent actress, and a dedicated colleague.” He was, “. . .particularly impressed by a recital she gave at the Kennedy Center,” noting the “unusual timbre” of her voice and her “unbelievably beautiful pianissimos.” Her distinguished career is gaining momentum with her Milan debut last spring in the role of Violetta, and her upcoming main-stage debut with the Los Angeles Opera in The Ghosts of Versailles. She has appeared nationally and internationally as soloist and in recital at such illustrious venues as the Kennedy Center, the Cosmos Club, the National Cathedral, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the Embassies of France, the Netherlands, and Monaco, Liederkranz in New York, the Dean Lesher Center in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Harvard Club in Boston, and the Stefaniensaal and Helmut-List-Halle in Graz, Austria. Opera credits include Leonora (Il Trovatore), Cio-Cio-San, Anna (Le Villi), Rosalinde, Mélisande, Donna Anna, Fiordiligi, Pamina, Erste Dame, Roggiero (Tancredi), and Euridice (Gluck). Sara Campbell, mezzo soprano
Sara Campbell, mezzo soprano, a native of Los Angeles, has performed throughout Southern California in a variety of operatic roles and as concert soloist. She has performed many mainstage comprimario roles with the Los Angeles Opera, and has sung lead roles with Opera Santa Barbara, including Mercedes, (covering Carmen), Papagena, Hansel, La Ciesca (from Gianni Schicchi) and Zulma (L’italiana in algieri). Sara has also been a featured artist with Opera Pacific, Corfu Opera, and at the Bear Valley Music Festival. Her concert repertoire includes Berlioz’ Les nuits d’ete, Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb, Corigliano’s Fern Hill, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Bach’s Magnificat, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Handel’s Messiah, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and Durufle’s Requiem. Ms. Campbell is soprano soloist at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Pacific Palisades and is a graduate of Smith College and California State University, Long Beach.
Tenor, Ashley Faatoalia
Tenor, Ashley Faatoalia, is a versatile and inspirational singer. Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, Ashley has been singing for as long as he can remember. He studied vocal performance at Chapman University and since then he has been performing throughout the Southern California area and abroad. Whether it's Opera, Pop, Soul or Gospel, Ashley strives to take his listeners on a journey through the power of song. Ashley's most recent engagements include: his debut as Marco Polo in the premiere of the Emmy Award winning, Pulitzer PrIze nominated, Invisible Cities with The Industry, and his debut as Jesse in Crescent City also with The Industry, Concerts with Riverside County Philharmonic, California Philharmonic, and Orchestra Nova, performances in Porgy and Bess with Seattle Opera, Candide with The Los Angeles Philharmonic at the historic Hollywood Bowl, The Festival Play of Daniel with Los Angeles Opera, his debut performance with San Francisco Opera as The Crab Man in Porgy and Bess, his debut performance with San Francisco Lyric Opera as Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, and his performance with Operafestival di Roma as Tamino in Die Zauberflöte. Ashley also currently works with The Education and Community Engagement Dept. at LA Opera as a resident artist. Ashley recently signed with Downtown Artists in London, UK. and is currently working on a project of contemporary genres including Soul and R&B
Ryan Reithmeier, baritone
Ryan Reithmeier, baritone, is in the final stages of the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Vocal Arts at the University of Southern California (USC). In opera and musical theatre he has been heard with the USC Thornton Opera, Opera San Luis Obispo, Opera in the Ozarks / Inspiration Point, the Kallisti Ensemble (San Diego), and Opera A La Carte, among others as well as being a regular guest soloist for symphonic and choral organizations. He is a Regional Semi-finalist in the NATSAA competition, and the winner of the 2009 NATSLA Gwendolyn Roberts Competition. As a two-time winner of the Beverly Hills Consortium Auditions, he has been a regular guest artist with chamber music presenters throughout Southern California. Ryan serves on the vocal arts faculty of Vanguard University of Southern California in Costa Mesa, as well as holding a Teaching Assistantship at USC.
