Music has the power to evoke emotions, memories, and images. But how does it work? Find out with the Palos Verdes Symphonic Band as it unlocks the secrets of how music is constructed in a program entitled Stories Through Music. This family-friendly event will explore the elements of music and how they are developed to tell a tale with sound. Guest artist Beth Mitchell will perform Tubby the Tuba with the band, with television actor Robert David Hall as narrator. AMUSE Music Center’s instrument petting zoo will be on site to captivate children from 2:30-3:00 and again during intermission.

Tickets are free with Garden admission, in advance at www.southcoastbotanicgarden.org, or at the door. The band invites you to bring a picnic lunch and a blanket or beach chair for outdoor seating.
